Bio:

Construction began 7 years after the 6th intergalactic war, it took several thousand workers spanning 29 years to build. Originally made to be an exploration vessel and potentially for deep space colonization the Orion was constructed in secret near a small asteroid deep within an R-class nebula while its fleet guards it at all times. Even after its prolonged use in countless battles the ship survives a crash landing on Earth in 9010 A.E. (local year 2090). The ships retrieval concludes with a total refit due to one of AFOPs old enemies being resurrected from such a deep grave, now the Orion is the new flagship of the main assault fleet or, "The Orion Fleet". The Orion itself is now the most advanced ship known in existence and is always with its fleet of 20 dreadnoughts and thousands of support ships of all classes, even with heavy losses to the fleet the Orion's proficient forges and fast hangers allow the fleets numbers to be replenished or even re-enforced in a matter of months if not weeks, the full force of Orion’s fleet can conquer approximately 100 star systems, yet the AFOPs old enemy has a ship that can take on the fleet alone witch brings us to the purpose of Orion's main cannon, its quad-mounted, high energy positron cannon being the first of its kind is capable of gutting the most powerful warships regardless of powerful shields and the most durable armor. Orion and its fleet have the fire power to take on countless starships across hundreds of star systems this made possible by the Orion's revolutionary FTL drive.


FTL drive:
The Orion's SDC or "Simatic Dimensional Core" allows the ship to Far Jump instantly within a 50 LY radius of its SL entry point allowing for an unprecedented level of precision of its targeted destination out-manoeuvring the enemy forces at every encounter sometimes jumping the ship and its fleet within the ranks of the enemy fleet leaving them unable to return fire or even offer up an effective defense. This ability can be scaled back however to allow for FTL travel at extreme distances making extragalactic trips to e.g. the Zeveron galaxy being over 70 billion light years from Earth an 8 month trip. Due to the unique properties of this device it is able to harness almost limitless power torn from the slipspace realm also known a zero point energy. If the device was ever damaged or the ship destroyed the resulting explosion could not only consume an entire solar system but would also damage the fabric of space for the entire sector rendering future slipspace travel impossible not to mention the dire environmental effects to any nearby populated star systems.


Shielding:

Orion’s 8 layers of trans-phasic shielding are the next generation of ship defences, and will eventually be implemented in all AFOP warships, this potentially can allow the ship to survive a stars intense heat and immense fluctuating gravity well and electromagnetic fields for no more than an hour before the last layer of shielding fails.


Armor:

Orion’s 5m of Xelex battle armor plating is the strongest metal alloy the AFOP possess, this material is so difficult and costly to manufacture that for now the Orion is the only ship that utilises it. Surprisingly this armor makes the Orion's shields redundant as one of its unique properties is the absorption of energy based weapons, having the bulk of the weapons charge harmlessly dissipating then adsorbed into the hull were it can be reused by the ships own weapons or shields, the more aggressively a foe attacks- the tougher the Orion becomes, literally turning the enemies own attacks against them.
